Thanks for the heads-up. It seems to work on my test account. I'll test it on a few different browsers just in case.

In the meantime, I've emailed it to you.

In fact, if you look at the 8 consecutive frames from running footage, I'm running at about 10k pace and there's clear counter-rotation. Yet, I'm not trying to do it, it's just natural balance for the action of my legs.

Thanks, Karim.

There are a few long articles about nutrition on the blog already, but I'm sure to get inspired to write that "novel-length" article sometime. I've added it to my list.

In reply to <a href="https://limitlessfitness.com/course/improving-your-running-technique/#comments/25">tim.newton@ntlworld.com</a>.

I would tend to agree with you that you need some shoulder counter-rotation to balance the action of the legs (similar to arm-swing). Once again, you should let this be moderated by how much your body needs it; in other words, it shouldn't be forced.

The way the sling systems of the body work, you need some level of counter-rotation to make the most of them and as the muscles in each line are linked by fascia (connective tissue), the amount of extra energy required is probably negligible when balanced against the elastic recoil benefit of they provide.

I'd say the real key is that if you have to "work" to create and control that counter-rotation than you're overdoing it.

The problem with a lot of technique advice is that we put ourselves in a box in order to adopt it. And the box is usually not shaped to fit our particular size and shape. It then gets worse when we try to unlearn the detrimental stuff we forced ourselves to do because the "the guru said so".
